Max Kepler Could Return This Weekend
2 years agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Max Kepler (toe), who is dealing with a fractured right fifth toe, said he's been running, hitting and throwing and felt fine after doing outfield work on Wednesday. He said he'll be back "soon." Skipper Rocco Baldelli said it's "possible" that Kepler is activated from the 10-day injured list this weekend. The 29-year-old is eligible to return on Saturday. Once he's back with Minnesota, Kepler should return to being a lineup regular in the outfield. Before his injury, he was slashing .244/.344/.390 with nine home runs, 39 RBI, 41 runs scored and two stolen bases in 337 plate appearances over 85 games in Minnesota. Kepler had played in just two games after the All-Star break before going on the IL.
