Max Kepler Hits Solo Homer, Day-To-Day With Bruised Foot
4 years agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Max Kepler (foot) hit a leadoff homer against Cleveland's Mike Clevinger before leaving the game later on. Kepler's blast was his seventh of the year and 12th in his career at Progressive Field. The 27-year-old outfielder has posted an .838 OPS, a 127 wRC+ and a career-high 13.6 walk percentage at the halfway point of the season. As for the injury, manager Rocco Baldelli said the x-rays came back negative after Kepler fouled a ball off his foot. Kepler started to feel better with treatment so it's certainly possible he'll be able to suit up for Thursday's game, though the team could opt for a day of rest with left-hander Matthew Boyd on the mound.
