Max Meyer Exits Saturday's Start With Elbow Discomfort
2 years agoMiami Marlins pitcher Max Meyer (elbow) left Saturday's start versus the Pittsburgh Pirates with right elbow discomfort. He allowed a walk while striking out one across 2/3 inning before exiting. The 23-year-old was sidelined earlier in the year with ulnar nerve irritation in his right elbow. He is considered day-to-day and will undergo further evaluation after the game. Meyer is a former first-round pick and has a ton of upside despite struggling in his first major league start, surrendering five runs on seven hits and a walk across 5 1/3 innings. Fantasy managers should continue to stash the rookie in deep-league formats, but the Marlins could be cautious with the right-hander and place him on the injured list. Stay tuned.
