Max Meyer Goes On Minor League Injured List
3 years agoMiami Marlins right-hander Max Meyer landed on the minor league injured list on Thursday with ulnar nerve irritation, according to a source. He will miss at least one start and then be re-evaluated, and the Marlins don't think it's a serious injury. The team's No. 3 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, had two poor outings for Triple-A Jacksonville recently, and it could be related to his injury. Overall, the 23-year-old hurler has allowed 20 earned runs on 32 hits while walking 14 and striking out 44 in 39 2/3 innings over eight starts for Jacksonville. As long as this doesn't end up being a serious injury, Meyer is a realistic option to join Miami's starting rotation later this year. Meyer will need to refine his command to have success in the majors, but there's a lot to like long term.
