3 years agoMiami Marlins top pitching prospect Max Meyer was named to the MLB Futures Game roster on Wednesday. Meyer will be the only Marlins representative at the Futures Game, and is the first player drafted by the Marlins to make the team since Brian Anderson in 2017. Meyer was the third overall pick in the 2020 draft and is the top prospect in the Marlins system. He's pitched 49 innings at Double-A this year, posting a 4-1 record and a 1.84 ERA with 50 strikeouts and 24 walks. He throws hard and has an excellent slider, but his slight build has some scouts thinking he'd be best out of the bullpen.
