Max Scherzer Dominates With Busted Face
5 years agoWashington Nationals starting pitcher Max Scherzer threw seven scoreless innings and came away with the victory in Washington's 2-0 win over the Phillies Wednesday, completing a sweep of a doubleheader. Scherzer broke his nose and got a black eye Tuesday and looked a mess on the mound, but that didn't affect the stuff one bit: he allowed four hits and two walks while striking out 10 on 117 pitches. Scherzer is now 6-5 with a 2.62 ERA and continues to have a strong argument as the best pitcher in baseball, real or fantasy.
