3 years agoWashington Nationals starting pitcher Max Scherzer is drawing increased trade interest from the New York Mets, according to Andy Martino of SNY. There is nothing imminent, and it's not clear yet if the Nationals will even entertain trade offers for their staff ace. With the Mets looking to clinch a division title this year, it makes sense for them to inquire about another top tier starter — especially if deGrom continues to have injury issues in the second half. However any trade for Scherzer would almost certainly come at a premium price, as the Nationals would likely be loathe to trade him to a divisional opponent.
