5 years agoWashington Nationals starting pitcher Max Scherzer suffered a bit of a fluke injury Tuesday, getting hit in the face by a ball during bunting drills. Scherzer was checked on by trainers but will very likely make his next scheduled start, on Wednesday in the late game of a doubleheader against the Philadelphia Phillies. Scherzer has made at least 30 starts every year since 2009, and his fantasy owners as well as the Nationals would have had a lot of trouble recovering from a serious injury. Fortunately, he should be fine.--Nathaniel Green
