5 years agoWashington Nationals starting pitcher Max Scherzer (back) is not ready to begin throwing off a mound according to manager Dave Martinez. Martinez added that Scherzer "wasn't great, but felt ok," after throwing yesterday. This is obviously not a good sign for the 35-year-old right-hander who has made just one start since July 6. He'll take a few days off before trying to play catch again later this week. Fantasy owners can only continue to stash Scherzer and hope to see their ace pitcher back on the mound soon.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
