Max Scherzer Start Pushed Back
5 years agoWashington Nationals starting pitcher Max Scherzer, originally scheduled to pitch on Sunday, will no longer be making that start on account of back tightness. Scherzer has been experiencing it since before the All-Star Break and obviously it remains an issue. It's not clear the extent of the pushback -- Scherzer himself anticipates a matter of days -- but more information should be forthcoming. Even if Scherzer avoids the IL, fantasy owners could well only get one start from Scherzer between July 12 and 21, which is part of the same scoring period in most weekly leagues this season. Can't do much except hope his back issues are still ultimately a minor thing.
