5 years agoWashington Nationals starting pitcher Max Scherzer was obviously facing some neck spasms this series and was doing everything he could to work through them. He was far from terrible in Game 7 of the World Series on Wednesday, but he only lasted five innings with 103 pitches and four walks. He struck out just three Astros and gave up a ton of hard contact. He was lucky to escape with only two earned runs to his name. Patrick Corbin saved the day and pitched three scoreless innings to get them to the ninth, where Daniel Hudson shut the door. Scherzer put his all into this performance and even though he wasn’t very productive, the team put their arms around him and got him to the finish line. The Washington Nationals are your World Series Champions.--RotoBaller
