4 years agoWashington Nationals ace Max Scherzer (groin) won't make his scheduled start Wednesday against the Pirates after testing his injury in a bullpen session on Monday and feeling uncomfortable, the Washington Post reported. Scherzer may be headed to the 10-day injured list, which would be backdated to Saturday, meaning he could only miss one start. The 36-year-old, who is 5-4 this season with a 2.21 ERA and an 0.82 WHIP, is still a fantasy and real-life asset even past his prime.--Josh Friedman
