4 years agoCincinnati Reds second baseman Max Schrock (calf) was placed on the 10-day injured list on Tuesday with a left calf strain, according to Mark Sheldon of MLB.com. Schrock was seen limping on the base path while running out a double on Monday night, and had to be removed from the game. He had just put together a breakout game on Monday night, going 3-for-4 with a double, a triple and a home run as he raised his batting average from .192 to .267, but now just when he was gaining some momentum he'll be sidelined for the next while. When he's healthy, he'll be utilized as a bench infielder that will be plugged into the lineup to give a regular starter a day off. As such, this limits his value to deep mixed leagues and deep NL-only formats.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
