3 years agoWe could not have asked for a closer women's flyweight battle on Saturday, with Maycee Barber (9-2) in dire need of a win to prevent a three-fight losing streak. She pulled off a split-decision win over fellow young prospect Miranda Maverick. Statistically, Barber's strike count was lower, only landing 36 significant strikes (38 total strikes) in 15 minutes of action. Barber scored a few strikes and a takedown at crucial points during the round that may have given her the nod in the judges' eyes.
