Mecole Hardman Should Enter Season As No. 2 WR
2 years agoThe Athletic's Nate Taylor writes that the safest estimate is that Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster will lead the receiver group, at least early in the season. Next up should be Mecole Hardman because he's the fastest of the group and has been in the system the longest. Marquez Valdes-Scantling should open as the No. 3, with rookie Skyy Moore as the No. 4. Hardman has a big opportunity in his fourth NFL season with Tyreek Hill no longer in the picture. The 24-year-old posted career-highs in catches (59), targets (83) and receiving yards (693) while catching two touchdowns in 17 regular season games (eight starts) last year. He could become an early season waiver-wire target in 12-team leagues if he gets off to a nice start, but he'll probably go undrafted in standard-sized leagues given the uncertainty of how the Chiefs will distribute the ball early on.
