3 years agoNew York Jets head coach Robert Saleh said that offensive tackles Mekhi Becton and George Fant will compete for the starting left tackle spot heading into the 2022 season. The Jets took Becton with the 11th overall pick in the 2020 draft, and the 22-year-old made 13 starts at left tackle in his rookie season. However, Becton injured his knee in the season opener this year and never made it back onto the field, mainly because of conditioning issues. Because of the lost season, he'll now need to prove himself to the Jets in order to win the starting left tackle job back. Fant was injured late in the year, but he did a respectable job on rookie quarterback Zach Wilson's blind side in his 15 starts in 2021.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
