Mekhi Sargent Leads Titans In Rushing On Saturday
3 years agoTennessee Titans running back Mekhi Sargent rushed for 78 yards on 16 attempts and hauled in one reception for five yards and a touchdown during Saturday's 34-3 preseason win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He is competing for a backup RB spot behind undisputed starter Derrick Henry with Brian Hill, Darrynton Evans (knee), and Jeremy McNichols. Sargent is averaging 4.9 YPC this preseason and has led the Titans in rushing in both games. Evans remains day-to-day with a knee injury but has seen a significant workload in camp. McNichols looked awful on Saturday by rushing for -9 yards on five attempts. Fantasy managers of Henry should continue to monitor the training camp battle for his backup throughout the preseason but expect Evans to emerge as the top option once he returns to action.
