7 years agoThe Cleveland Indians purchased the contract of outfielder Melky Cabrera from Triple-A Columbus. Cabrera signed a minor league contract with Cleveland a few weeks ago after he was unable to find a major league deal. He played in 10 games at the Triple-A level, hitting .286/.286/.381. He might get some playing time until Lonnie Chisenhall (calf) returns, but with Chisenhall starting a rehab assignment on Monday, Cabrera's days of significant playing time are likely limited.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller
