Melvin Gordon III Goes Over 100 Yards In Season Finale
3 years agoDenver Broncos running back Melvin Gordon III finished up the regular season with a strong performance in the Week 18 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday in what could end up being his final game with the team. Gordon will be a free agent in the offseason. The 28-year-old handled 12 carries for 110 yards (9.2 yards per carry) and one touchdown while adding one catch on two targets for six yards. However, Gordon's fumble near the goal line late in the game was recovered by Kansas City and returned for a touchdown, sealing the Broncos fate in the 28-24 loss. Overall, Gordon had a very solid season while splitting the workload evenly with rookie Javonte Williams. He had 203 carries for 918 yards and eight touchdowns, adding 28 receptions on 38 targets for 213 yards and two more TDs. If he sticks around in Denver, he could a smaller workload behind the rising Williams.
