Melvin Gordon III Won't Miss Time With Thumb Injury
3 years agoDenver Broncos running back Melvin Gordon III (thumb) briefly exited Sunday's game before returning and finishing with 111 rushing yards. His sprained thumb won't be something that limits him or his playing time moving forward, so it seems that Denver plans to roll out the Gordon and Javonte Williams duo for the remainder of the season. Even after Williams' impressive performance in Week 13 as the workhorse, Gordon returned to the lineup and out-touched him 24-16. With the Broncos' rest of season schedule, both backs will have starting lineup appeal because of the run-heavy approach the offense has taken over the past couple of weeks. Their ceilings will be capped because of the presence of one another, but both are in the low-end RB2 range when splitting the backfield.
