5 years agoArizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Merrill Kelly allowed just three hits with no walks and five strikeouts over 7 2/3 innings in a road victory against the Philadelphia Phillies. He threw 67 of his 93 pitches for strikes, including 19 first-pitch strikes to the 26 batters he faced, posting his third consecutive quality starts. He improved to 3-0 with a 0.81 ERA and 18 strikeouts over 22 1/3 innings in three June outings, lowering his ERA from 4.83 to 3.73 since May 28. He'll look to stay red hot on Tuesday against the visiting Colorado Rockies.--Daniel Dobish
