Mets Acquire Billy Hamilton
4 years agoThe San Fransisco Giants traded outfielder Billy Hamilton to the Mets on Sunday. With outfielder Jake Marisnick (hamstring) hitting the IL, the Mets were in need of a backup outfielder and have acquired Hamilton to fill that role. Hamilton hadn’t played a major league game for the Giants this season, so his playing time opportunities have increased substantially with this trade, especially when considering that Marisnick had already gotten into five games for the Mets before landing on the IL. A career .623 OPS and inconsistent playing time makes Hamilton an option only for DFS players looking for speed, but probably only until Marisnick returns.
