Mets Extension Talks With Francisco Lindor To Begin Soon
4 years agoNew York Mets team president Sandy Alderson indicated on Monday that extension talks between the team and shortstop Francisco Lindor should begin soon. Lindor is due to be a free agent at the end of the 2021 campaign, so it would be in the Mets' best interest to lock the four-time All-Star to a long-term deal as soon as possible. Lindor hit .258 with eight home runs, 27 RBI, and a .750 OPS in 60 games in his final season with the Indians in 2020. Heading into his first season with the Mets, Lindor will remain an elite fantasy shortstop who can provide managers with first-round value in all formats.
