6 years agoThe New York Mets have apparently discussed releasing infielder Jose Reyes. According to Mike Puma of the New York Post, the team is “conflicted” given Reyes’ history with the ball club and would like to give him a “proper sendoff.” A proper sendoff would be great if Reyes weren’t hitting .141/.208/.197, and if the Mets didn’t need to figure out if they’re going to try and contend or sell this season. Regardless of what happens in the immediate future, it’s clear that Reyes’ days as a productive Major Leaguer are over.--John Smith
