7 years agoThe New York Mets are down a few catchers, and so it only makes sense they would explore the trade market for what could be the best available option. After discussing J.T. Realmuto with the Miami Marlins during the offseason, it was reported earlier on Monday that they will try to revisit talks with their National League East rivals at some point soon. The Amazins haven’t exactly sputtered with catchers Travis d’Arnaud out for the year and Kevin Plawecki set to miss a minimum of a few weeks, but the current options on the roster, Tomas Nido and Jose Lobaton, aren’t going to get it done either. Plus, even if Plawecki returns soon, Realmuto would be a massive upgrade anyway. A move to Queens would also be fantastic for Realmuto’s 2018 fantasy outlook, though at this point a deal sounds unlikely.--John Smith
