6 years agoThe New York Mets are presumably in the final stages of completing a deal that will send closer Jeurys Familia to Oakland in exchange for a couple of low-level prospects. Familia has been consistently closing games for the Mets since 2015, but with the state of their season in 2018, they figured it to be best to part ways with the troubled former all-star. The prospects coming from Oakland have not yet been named, but reports show that Mets fans should not be expecting anything special. Familia will be more useful to a team that could make the playoffs like Oakland than the poor Mets since he is an unrestricted free agent at the end of the year. He will likely set up Blake Treinen going forward and only receive save opportunities in rare occasions.--Kev Mahserejian - RotoBaller
