3 years agoThe New York Mets signed free-agent outfielder Travis Jankowski to a minor league deal with an invite to spring camp on Thursday. Jankowski spent the 2021 season with the Philadelphia Phillies and hit .252/.364/.351 with a homer, 10 RBI and five stolen bases in 157 plate appearances over 76 games. The 30-year-old spent the first five seasons of his career with the San Diego Padres before joining the Phillies and Cincinnati Reds the last two years. He's a career .239 hitter with only nine home runs, 52 RBI and 69 stolen bases in 426 games over seven big-league seasons. Jankowski can offer a bit of speed if he's in the starting lineup, but he'll mostly function as outfield depth for the Mets in 2022.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
