6 years agoWith an off day on Monday, the New York Mets are tweaking with their starting rotation a little bit and will be skipping Jason Vargas’ next start. He was scheduled to pitch Tuesday against the Atlanta Braves, and while it’s unconfirmed as of now, his next start would seemingly line up to be either on Saturday or Sunday in Arizona against the Diamondbacks. Also without confirmation at this point, but the obvious candidate to pitch on Tuesday would be Zack Wheeler, who was originally scheduled to throw Wednesday. For fantasy purposes, it doesn’t mean much unless you’re a Wheeler owner in a weekly league. Vargas has strung together two decent starts but isn’t worthy of fantasy consideration, while this week Wheeler becomes a two-start pitcher.--John Smith
