7 years agoNew York Mets general manager Sandy Alderson said it's still unlikely that the team signs free-agent starting pitcher Bartolo Colon, even to a minor league deal. The 44-year-old veteran pitcher would only like to play for the Mets for one more season, but it appears that they won't give him that opportunity. The right-hander was an innings-eater for Minnesota and Atlanta last year, going 7-14 with a 6.48 ERA, 1.59 WHIP and only 89 strikeouts in 143 innings.
