6 years agoWhile the odds remain greatly against a trade for either starting pitcher, the New York Mets will “have to consider” trade offers for Jacob deGrom and Noah Syndergaard, according to interim general manager John Ricco. Ricco, who is one of three men temporarily taking over general manager duties due to Sandy Alderson’s battle with cancer, admitted the Mets will be sellers at the July trade deadline and stated “everything has to be on the table.” However, he also noted the incredible value of both players, thereby creating the insinuation it would take a massive haul to land either. With both pitchers under team control for a while, the Mets won’t be in any hurry to make a move unless they are blown away.--John Smith
