Mets Unlikely To Sign Jackie Bradley Jr.
4 years agoOn Thursday, SNY reported that the New York Mets' chances of signing free-agent outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr. are now virtually non-existent. While the Mets previously engaged Bradley's agent, Scott Boras, the two sides never got remotely close to an agreement. With the Mets' recent additions of outfielders Albert Almora Jr. and Kevin Pillar, their outfield corps for 2021, which also includes Dominic Smith, Michael Conforto, and Brandon Nimmo, appears set. Bradley is reportedly seeking a contract of more than four years and $50 million. If he gets such a deal, it won't be in New York. This should enhance the fantasy value of Pillar and Nimmo. Both should benefit from not having to also contend with yet another bat for playing time in 2021, especially with no universal designated hitter in place in the National League in 2021.
