3 years agoNew York Jets running back Michael Carter was able to get his first chance versus an NFL defense on Saturday. To be fair, it was a preseason matchup versus the New York Giants, but it's something. Carter rushed seven times for 22 yards and hauled in one reception for nine yards. It was not exactly an excellent debut for Carter, but none of his competitors did much anyway. Both Ty Johnson and La'Mical Perine struggled to get anything going on the ground. The Jets selected Carter in the fourth round of the 2021 draft. That means, they clearly saw something in him to warrant selecting him that early. He should have a role in this offense, but the significance of it is yet to be determined.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
