Michael Chavis Doubles Twice Off The Bench
5 years agoBoston Red Sox infielder Michael Chavis doubled twice and drove in two runs in Thursday's win. Chavis didn't start the game due to a lingering back issue, but Brock Holt was ejected for arguing balls and strikes so Chavis entered the game in the fourth inning. The rookie is due to lose some playing time now that Mitch Moreland is back in the lineup. The 23-year-old is hitting .257 with a .786 OPS, 16 homers, and 54 RBI, however, he's struck out 111 times in 303 at-bats. He'll carry some AL-only value the rest of year, but as long as Moreland and Holt are healthy, Chavis will be sitting more often than not.
