6 years agoBoston Red Sox second baseman Michael Chavis has cooled off considerably and is hitting only .216 over the past month. He has nine runs, four home runs, and 15 RBI in that span and is hitting .176 over the past two weeks. He now owns only average marks in hard hit percentage, exit velocity, and xwOBA as well as a below average mark in xBA. Owners that have the struggling rookie may look to Brock Holt to fill the void, who has hit .440 with seven runs and five RBI in 25 at-bats since coming back from the injured list. The upside and eligibility are too good to cut Chavis right now, but have a backup in case this cold streak takes longer to work itself out.--Zach Alexander
