Michael Chavis Hits Game-Winning Homer
6 years agoBoston Red Sox second baseman Michael Chavis hit a game winning solo home run to lift the Red Sox over the Blue Jays Wednesday. There were doubts about him hanging on to the second base job with Eduardo Nunez available and Dustin Pedroia rehabbing, but those are long gone. This was his 10th home run of the season and in grand fashion after the Sox bullpen blew two save opportunities. The 23-year-old is hitting .287/.385/.574 with the 10 homers and 25 RBI. It’s likely too late to buy for a reasonable price, but options at second base are limited. There may still be an opportunity to give up another surging youngster at a deeper position. Start Chavis everywhere with confidence.
