Michael Chavis Hits Walk-Off
6 years agoBoston Red Sox second baseman Michael Chavis hit a walk-off single to lift the Red Sox over the Rockies on Wednesday night. Chavis was 2-for-5 on the night hitting out of the seven spot. The 23-year-old is now slashing .296/.406/.580 with seven home runs in 81 at-bats and has taken over the every day second base job from Eduardo Nunez and injured Dustin Pedroia (knee). His production has eliminated most concerns about playing time combined with Nunez’s return from the IL and Pedroia’s continuous setbacks. It’s likely too late to buy in for a reasonable price as he could still go through some ups and downs common for rookie players. Keep him in your lineup but have a solid backup plan in case he runs into slumps along the way.
