Michael Conforto Back In Lineup In Cincinnati
7 years agoStruggling New York Mets outfielder Michael Conforto spent the last two games on the bench, but he’s back in the lineup on Monday for the team’s opener of a series against the Reds in Cincinnati. He’s hitting leadoff and starting in center field. While Conforto’s struggles this season have been well-documented, we would not recommend dropping him unless you have to. It was known all along that Conforto was going to take some time to get back into a groove after undergoing significant shoulder surgery last summer. He returned quicker than anyone expected, but the thought all along was that it would likely take somewhere around two months for him to get going once he did return. If he’s still hitting this way come June, then it’s time to worry.
