Michael Conforto Has Yet To Discuss Extension
4 years agoNew York Mets outfielder Michael Conforto stated on Tuesday that he has not yet opened contract extension talks with the ball club. In 2020, Conforto posted a .322/.412/.927 slash line with nine home runs, and 31 RBI in 202 at-bats. In 2021, the consistent Conforto will be hitting in the middle of an even more potent Mets' lineup which now includes Francisco Lindor and James McCann. As a result, he should have plenty of opportunities to repeat his successful, albeit shortened, 2020 campaign. Managers should confidently draft Conforto who will be a free agent after this season. With a great surrounding cast and the motivation to raise his market value heading into free agency, Conforto can potentially provide managers with 30 home runs, and 90-100 RBI, to go with some slight batting average regression in 2021.
