6 years agoNew York Mets outfielder Michael Conforto had himself a nice night at the dish on Thursday against the Arizona Diamondbacks, finishing 1-for-4 with a home run and a walk. The dinger was Conforto’s eighth of the season and only his second in the month of June. The outing marks the second in a row Conforto has picked up a hit after putting up goose eggs for six consecutive games, but we aren’t buying in, at least not yet. We’ve been tricked a few times by one-offs from Conforto this season, and we’ll need to see more of a consistent effort from him if we’re to believe his 2018 struggles are behind him. An assignment to the minors to get his head right still seems like the best option here, but for now, we’ll keep tabs on him in Queens.--John Smith
