3 years agoNew York Mets outfielder Michael Conforto went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run in the Mets 6-5 loss to the Pirates on Sunday. Coming into Sunday's game, Conforto was just 5-for-46 (.109) with no home runs, three RBI, and 11 walks since his return from the injured list back on June 23. Sunday's performance was very much needed for Conforto, the Mets, and any fantasy managers forced to keep Conforto active due to roster constraints. So far in 2021, between the hamstring injury that kept him sidelined for over one month and his 2021 numbers, Conforto has been providing fantasy managers with replacement-level production. Overall, he is batting .202/.345/.301 with just three home runs, 19 RBI, and 16 runs scored in 52 games. Hopefully, Sunday is a sign that Conforto will turn things around for fantasy managers and the Mets in the second half of the season. That said, his overall hard-hit and barrel rates are way down from prior seasons and currently sit at the bottom 20% of MLB. Fantasy managers should continue to keep Conforto on the bench in the second half until he can show consistency at the plate.--Nick Ritrivi - RotoBaller
