7 years agoWith the Washington Nationals sending out left-handed starting pitcher Gio Gonzalez on Tuesday, the New York Mets are keeping outfielder Michael Conforto on the bench. Conforto has slowed down after a quick start upon his return from a devastating shoulder injury. He’s slashing .250/.415/.438 with one home run and three RBI across 41 plate appearances. Given this minor slump, it’s probably a good thing to keep him out of the game against the southpaw. He’ll likely return for Wednesday’s series finale with Tanner Roark taking the hill for the Nats.--John Smith
