Michael Conforto Taking Regular Batting Practice
5 years agoNew York Mets outfielder Michael Conforto (oblique) has been reportedly taking regular batting practice and team officials are encouraged by his recent workouts. Conforto was diagnosed with a Grade 1 right oblique strain before spring training was suspended. Now six weeks removed from the injury, it appears as if he is close to being fully recovered. Speculation is that Conforto would have already returned to the lineup or been close to a return if the MLB season was underway. In 2019, Conforto hit .257 with 33 HR, 92 RBI, and seven steals. He is currently projected to be the Mets starting right fielder and to hit in the middle of the Mets potent lineup. With a current ADP of 119 and his injury seemingly behind him, Conforto makes for an excellent second or third outfield draft pick in mixed league formats.
