Michael Conforto To Begin Rehab Assignment
4 years agoNew York Mets outfielder Michael Conforto (hamstring) will reportedly start a rehab assignment with the club's Triple-A affiliate on Wednesday. North Jersey Media Group's Justin Toscano reported in a tweet that manager Luis Rojas had announced the news. Also, per Toscano's tweet, Conforto could join the Mets next week. Getting Conforto back in the lineup soon would not just be significant for the Mets but also for fantasy managers, who've missed him in the outfield. The 28-year-old has logged 135 plate appearances this season. His power output (just a pair of home runs so far) isn't quite at the level it was from 2017 to 2019 when he hit at least 27 home runs per season, but he's continued to get on base plenty with a 13.3% walk rate and a .356 on-base percentage. Conforto should return to hitting near the top of the Mets lineup near Pete Alonso, which should only help his fantasy upside.
