Michael Crabtree Could Be Released
7 years agoOakland Raiders wide receiver Michael Crabtree is expected to be released if the team signs free-agent wide receiver Jordy Nelson, who was visiting with Oakland on Tuesday. Releasing Crabtree would result in more than $7 million in salary cap space. The Raiders would be a familiar fit for Nelson, as he has history with wide receivers coach Edgar Bennett and general manager Reggie McKenzie from their time in Green Bay. Like the rest of the team's offense in 2017, the veteran Crabtree had just 58 receptions for 618 yards and eight touchdowns. He remains a red-zone threat in Oakland, but his fantasy value would be in flux if he were to hit the open market.
