Michael Fulmer Could Return Soon
4 years agoThe Detroit Free Press' Evan Petzold reported in a tweet Monday that Detroit Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said right-hander Michael Fulmer (shoulder) could return from the injured list either Monday or Tuesday. Fulmer has pitched to a 3.34 ERA with 35 strikeouts, 10 walks and four saves in 35 innings pitched. He began the year in the rotation but soon moved into a high-leverage role coming out of the bullpen. The former Rookie of the Year should re-enter the high-leverage mix alongside Jose Cisnero and Gregory Soto once he's activated. Hinch has played matchups more as opposed to going with a set closer, so there's a bit of uncertainty with this bullpen from a fantasy standpoint. What does seem certain, though, is that Fulmer should work in high-leverage spots, whether those come in the ninth inning or not. Before being placed on the injured list, he seemed to have established himself as Detroit's most dependable reliever.
