Michael Fulmer Will Make First Start Sunday
7 years agoSometimes Mother Nature gets in the way of baseball. With Saturday's game postponed, Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Michael Fulmer will make his first start of the season on Sunday against the Pirates. After being passed over for the opening day role in favor of Jordan Zimmermann, Fulmer will take the hill against a team with whom he has no experience facing. Corey Dickerson is the lone Pirate to have faced Fulmer in his career. Fulmer was 10-12 in an injury-shortened campaign last year, and notched a 2.12 ERA in 17 innings this spring. Despite the fact he didn't start opening day, he's still the ace of the Tigers' rotation.
