Michael Gallup Unlikely To Play In Week 2
2 years agoIn all likelihood, Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Gallup (knee) will need at least another week before he makes his 2022 debut. Head coach Mike McCarthy said the hope is that Gallup can go from doing individual drills last week to "group stuff" this week. The 26-year-old has been making good progress after tearing his ACL in January, but he's still not ready to play in games just yet. CeeDee Lamb led Dallas in targets (11) in the Week 1 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but it was Noah Brown who led the team in catches (five) and receiving yards (68) from the receiver position on nine targets. Rookie Dennis Houston and Simi Fehoko will remain involved as well, but all of the Cowboys offensive skill players will need to be downgraded for the foreseeable future with quarterback Dak Prescott suffering a fractured thumb.
