Michael Lorenzen Expected To Return After All-Star Break
3 years agoCincinnati Reds pitcher Michael Lorenzen (shoulder) is expected to return following the All-Star break, Reds beat writer Bobby Nightengale reported Thursday. Reds manager David Bell initially said Lorenzen could return and start throwing out of the bullpen as soon as late June, but he confirmed on Thursday that the 29-year-old righty will need more time. Lorenzen already didn't hold much fantasy value, considering he has yet to pitch this season due to his shoulder strain, so it is unlikely he'll bring much to the table once he returns. For now, fantasy managers can continue to leave him to the waiver wire. Lorenzen had a 4.28 ERA, 1.39 WHIP, 35 strikeouts and 17 walks in 18 games (two starts) over 33 2/3 frames in last year's shortened season.
