Michael Lorenzen Performs Well In BP Session
3 years agoCincinnati Reds right-hander Michael Lorenzen (shoulder) pitched well in his rehab assignment at Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday, according to beat writer Charlie Goldsmith. He hit 97 mph with his fastball and had his slider working, per Goldsmith. Lorenzen has been out for the entire season with a shoulder strain but is on track to return to the Reds this weekend. He'll likely be used as a swingman for Cincinnati, which makes him hard to roster in fantasy leagues. He posted a 4.28 ERA, 1.39 WHIP, and 35:17 K/BB ratio over 33 2/3 innings (18 appearances, two starts) last season. He does possess high strikeout upside so he's still worth keeping eyes on once he rejoins the Reds.
