Michael Pineda To Start On Wednesday
3 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Michael Pineda (elbow) will be activated from the injured list on Wednesday and start against the Chicago White Sox, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reported. Pineda has been sidelined since mid-June with right elbow inflammation and allowed four earned runs with one strikeout and three walks through four innings pitched in his only Triple-A rehab start. The 32-year-old right-hander has been steady through 11 starts this season with a 3.70 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 51 strikeouts over 56 innings. However, Pineda struggled when he faced the White Sox back on May 13, allowing two home runs and three earned runs in 5 1/3 innings pitched, and he'll be a bit more risky in his first start off the injured list.
